Job Title: Tax Senior - Real Estate
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Tax Consultant in the department, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Working within an engagement team to draw on your experience in accounting and taxation to provide tax compliance and consulting services to investment management clients.
- Identifying complex tax issues and providing tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
- Performing detailed-level reviews of partnership work papers, allocations, and tax returns.
- Preparing materials and conducting research for consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities.
- Coordinating and communicating with client contacts as required to gather information necessary for completing their tax returns.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced-level tax staff.
- Attending required trainings offered by the company and sector-specific programs.
Education and Experience Information:
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 to 3 days per week.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience providing tax planning services or preparing client work papers and income tax returns.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related fields.
- Basic understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and the tax compliance process for real estate funds.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, or in process, or must be able and willing to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC740.
- Previous experience with Big 4 or large CPA firms.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,570 to $151,580. Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
