A well-established legal practice seeks a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience to join its team in Newport Beach, CA. This role primarily focuses on business and insurance-related litigation, including coverage disputes. However, attorneys with a strong foundation in general litigation will also be considered. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a track record of commitment and consistency in prior roles, reflecting a stable professional trajectory.
This position offers a competitive compensation package, including a discretionary year-end bonus, comprehensive benefits, and a balanced work environment. The annual billable requirement is 1,850 hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle complex litigation matters, particularly in business disputes and insurance coverage issues.
- Conduct legal research, case analysis, and strategy development for effective case handling.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Manage all aspects of litigation, from pre-trial preparations to trial advocacy when required.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client advisement.
- Maintain a proactive approach in case management, negotiations, and settlement discussions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, procedural, and ethical obligations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in business or insurance law; general litigation backgrounds will also be considered.
- Strong writing, research, and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
- Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet deadlines.
- A history of consistent employment and professional commitment is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Education & Certifications:
- Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
