Job Title: Fall 2025 Litigation Intern

Job Responsibilities:
The Fall 2025 Litigation Intern will be an integral part of the Litigation Team, which consists of approximately 40 lawyers, paralegals, and operations staff. The team engages in litigation across a wide array of environmental and public health issues, working in collaboration with communities most impacted by environmental injustices. The intern will actively participate in efforts to protect the environment and public health through various legal actions. This includes preventing climate pollution, challenging toxic chemical approvals, defending clean water safeguards, and opposing harmful practices such as offshore drilling. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute significantly by performing substantive writing and research tasks, drafting litigation documents such as briefs and complaints, and participating in litigation planning and strategy meetings.

Education and Experience Information:
The internship is specifically designed for current law school students in their second or third year of a . program or those enrolled in an LLM program. Candidates should exhibit a commitment to the organization's mission and values. While it is not necessary for candidates to meet all criteria, the internship aims to help participants grow their legal skills, particularly in writing, research, and communication. Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral communication skills are valued, along with experience in teamwork, creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to public service, equity, or justice. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work with people from diverse social identities and backgrounds and have a record of academic or professional accomplishment.

Salary Information:
This position is paid unless the student is seeking academic credit and their school mandates an unpaid internship.

Additional Information:
The internship typically lasts about 10 weeks, commencing at the start of the intern’s fall semester and concluding before exams. The start and end dates, along with other scheduling details, are negotiable, with a minimum time commitment of two days (14 hours) per week over the academic term.
