Job Description:
The Office of the Attorney General offers a volunteer Law Clerk program for law students seeking to gain practical legal experience. Law clerks have the opportunity to work on a variety of legal fields, including criminal investigations, consumer protection, and counsel to state agencies. They will be involved in legal research and writing, witness and client interviews, and assisting with litigation of claims in Maryland's trial, administrative, and appellate courts.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and writing
- Participate in witness and client interviews
- Assist with litigation of claims in Maryland's courts
- Work closely with supervising attorneys
- Attend trainings and seminars
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in law school
- Excellent legal research and writing abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good work ethic and attitude
- Available to work 15-20 hours per week
- Eligible for course credit (if applicable)
