Job Title: Real Estate Counsel

Job Responsibilities:
The Real Estate Counsel will operate under the supervision of the Senior Corporate Counsel and the leadership of the Vice President of Legal Compliance. The individual in this role will provide comprehensive legal support to the real estate department. Key responsibilities include managing the company's real estate portfolio, which encompasses the standardization of real estate forms, lease review, negotiation and tracking, real estate acquisitions, due diligence review, joint ventures, real estate brokerage agreements, and other development and leasing documentation. The Real Estate Counsel will also manage outside counsel, handle real estate disputes, supervise a Development Administrator, and address any other real estate-related or general corporate work. Specific duties include coordinating with the real estate department to negotiate store leases, preparing final lease summaries for senior management, reviewing and negotiating documents related to lease execution, real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, and general real estate work, standardizing real estate forms, tracking real estate deals, managing outside counsel, advising on real estate disputes, managing subpoenas and inquiries, assisting with general legal issues, and supervising the Development Administrator.

Education and Experience:
The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, and have six to ten years of experience working in a law firm, with a preference for experience in an in-house legal setting.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Designations:
The candidate must be licensed to practice law in the United States, with a North Carolina license being a plus.
