Job Overview:
A respected law firm in West Covina, CA is seeking a full-time Immigration Attorney with expertise in handling complex immigration matters, including asylum cases and EOIR removal proceedings. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative legal environment while managing a diverse caseload involving both defensive and affirmative immigration processes. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to represent clients at all levels of the immigration legal system.

Duties:
Handle Affirmative Asylum and EOIR Removal Proceeding cases
Represent clients in immigration court, including hearings, trials, and appeals
Provide legal counsel for a range of immigration matters such as green cards, visa applications, deportation defense, work permits, and asylum claims
Develop and execute effective case strategies
Draft and file legal briefs and motions, including but not limited to:
Protected grounds & nexus statements
BIA briefs
Motions to reopen or reconsider
1-year deadline briefs and eligibility briefs
Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the legal process
Participate in firm-wide collaboration with attorneys and staff
Contribute to business development by maintaining and growing a client base
Requirements:
Must be an active licensed attorney in good standing with a state bar
Minimum of 1 year of immigration law experience preferred
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Demonstrated ability to handle a heavy caseload with minimal supervision
High attention to detail and excellent legal research and writing abilities
Strong interpersonal and client relationship-building skills
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar license in any . jurisdiction (California preferred)
Good standing with state bar
Skills:
Immigration litigation and court advocacy
Legal writing and motion drafting
Client counseling and communication
Case strategy development
Fluency in a second language is a plus
