Job Title: Tax Senior, Private Equity
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior in the Private Equity sector, you will play a crucial role in providing tax compliance and advisory services to investment management clients. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing prior experience to assist clients with effective analysis, solution development, and implementation of tax objectives.
- Managing client relationships by delivering tax advisory services.
- Performing detailed reviews of tax research, partnership work papers, allocations, and tax filings.
- Coordinating and communicating with client contacts to gather information necessary for tax returns.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced-level tax staff.
- Attending required trainings specific to the company and sector.
- Preparing and leading client meetings on compliance and advisory projects related to tax planning opportunities.
- Advising on the tax implications of various transactions to the organization.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, requiring co-location in person 2–3 days per week.
- Three or more years of experience in providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns.
- Experience with investment management or partnership taxation.
- Knowledge of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and the tax compliance process for investment partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, depending on work and client requirements.
- One of the following active accreditations, obtained, in process, or willingness to obtain: Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible, Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as a Master of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers a variety of factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,570 to $151,580. Additionally, there is potential eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program, which depends on individual and organizational performance.
