Roles and Responsibilities
As a legal intern at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, you will be assigned to a supervising attorney who will act as your mentor and main point of contact throughout the program. Your mentor will assign projects and tasks that will provide you with real-world work experience and teach transferable skills. These may include writing trial and appellate briefs, conducting interviews with witnesses/victims, researching legal questions, reviewing active case files and investigations, and appearing and arguing in court proceedings and taking depositions (if certified under Missouri Supreme Court Rule 13).
Qualifications
- Law student (undergraduate students may also be considered)
- Interested in practicing law in the public sector
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
