Job Title: Financial Services Tax - Real Estate Director

Job Responsibilities:
A career in the Financial Services Tax practice within Corporate Tax services provides an opportunity to help clients manage their tax obligations effectively while understanding the broader impact of tax on business operations. A Director in this role will work as part of a team to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Key responsibilities include advising clients on local and overseas tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant for business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. The Director will also help clients understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties and provide advice on the tax implications of deals.

Directors are expected to support the team in disrupting, improving, and evolving ways of working when necessary. They are responsible for arranging and sponsoring appropriate assignments and experiences to help people realize their potential and support their long-term aspirations. Identifying market gaps and spotting opportunities to create value propositions is crucial. - Required Fields of Study: Accounting
- Minimum Years of Experience: 6 years
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of tax compliance methods and strategy consulting for Real Estate Investment Trusts and Real Estate Partnerships.
- Thorough knowledge of partnership structures and their impact on real estate transactions and corresponding tax liabilities.
- Considerable knowledge of accounting for Unrelated Business Taxable Income.

The role demands extensive technical skills, including providing full services to real estate owners, developers, and investors, including publicly traded REITS, institutional real estate funds managed by financial institutions, and privately held real estate entities. Experience in identifying and addressing client needs, developing and sustaining deep client relationships using networking, negotiation, and persuasion skills is essential. The Director should be able to prepare and present complex written and verbal materials, define resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection.

Experience as a team leader is necessary, with the ability to generate a vision, establish direction, motivate team members, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, coach staff, and encourage improvement and innovation. A proven record of success as a tax technical team leader in generating new business, proposal writing, and delivery is important. The role involves collaborating across engagements and business units, identifying opportunities to provide additional services, and utilizing a CRM system in a professional services firm to network, develop relationships, and sell additional/new services.

The Director should demonstrate experience in a professional services environment utilizing automation and digitization, including innovating through new and existing technologies and experimenting with digitization solutions. Working with large, complex data sets to build models and leveraging data visualization tools to provide insights to clients is required. The role involves transforming the business by creating capacity and delivering an enhanced employee and client experience.

Proven experience with evaluating and negotiating new and existing contracts, as well as leveraging pricing tools to contribute to pricing strategies, is required.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the position of Financial Services Tax - Real Estate Director is $140,900 - $434,000. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range. Actual compensation within the range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
