Job Overview:
A California-based law firm is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Trial & Litigation Attorney to join its Litigation Practice Group. This position is ideal for a skilled litigator with at least seven years of experience, particularly those with a background in eminent domain, constitutional law, and public entity representation. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative, cross-office team environment, taking ownership of complex cases from strategy to trial.

Location:

  • Oakland, CA

Duties:

  • Manage complex litigation matters, including constitutional and eminent domain issues

  • Handle law and motion practice in both state and federal court, including dispositive motions

  • Develop strategic litigation approaches and advise clients accordingly

  • Conduct witness interviews, evidence development, and deposition preparation

  • Lead or assist in trial preparation and court proceedings

  • Collaborate across offices with colleagues in a team-oriented environment

  • Represent public entities and advise on land use and related legal matters

  • Contribute to the professional reputation and visibility of the firm’s litigation practice

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts

  • Demonstrated expertise in law and motion practice

  • Significant trial preparation experience, including depositions and evidence gathering

  • Familiarity with eminent domain and public agency representation (preferred)

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple offices and with diverse teams

  • Interest in strategic litigation and complex case development

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of California (required)

Skills:

  • Superior research, writing, and analytical abilities
