Job Title:
Manager, Compensation & Benefits Tax
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Tax, Audit, and Advisory teams, with a focus on Mergers and Acquisitions tax, to deliver compensation, benefits, or HR-related services to clients.
- Manage senior-level client relationships, address tactical issues, ensure high-quality service delivery, and oversee teams of tax professionals and assistants on client projects.
- Monitor risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and budgeting for assigned projects.
- Evaluate the tax impact on clients, formulate tax arguments to support conclusions, and offer recommendations.
- Engage in market and business activities outside the company, provide guidance, and maintain managerial responsibility for a team.
- Act as a coach and mentor to other tax professionals, and teach or speak at internal and external classes and seminars.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of five years of recent experience in federal tax with employer benefit strategies.
- Preferred experience in at least three of the following areas: total rewards and benefits, global compensation and equity sourcing and taxation, domestic and global employment tax compliance and consulting, Mergers and Acquisitions advisory, executive compensation and compensation integration, mobility tax compliance and consulting, corporate taxation, ASC 718, ASC 740, share-based compensation delivery, and data and analytics.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, finance, business, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field required; a Bachelor's degree in law is a plus.
- Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or completion of advanced degrees or professional designations such as MBA, Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASOA), Engineering News-Record (ENR) American College Testing (ACT), Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Candidates without these designations/credentials have one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one.
- Experience with corporate taxation and partnerships.
- Solid experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams.
- Excellent advisory, compliance, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
Salary Information:
- California Salary Range: $95,600 - $208,500.
- The salary offered is based on relevant factors such as applicant's skills, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and market considerations.
