Job Title: Property Tax Manager - Multistate
Job Responsibilities:
As a Property Tax Manager in the Multistate Tax Services group, the candidate will be responsible for providing state and local property tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to multiple clients across various industries. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships on property tax consulting and compliance engagements.
- Providing guidance to clients on a range of property tax issues, including complex, commercial, real, and personal property tax.
- Analyzing property tax considerations and potential impacts related to business restructuring or due diligence projects.
- Performing in-depth reviews of complex property tax returns.
- Assisting with drafting and presenting new proposals to new and existing clients.
- Providing guidance and mentoring for the development of the engagement team.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for the role include:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, requiring in-person co-location 2–3 days per week.
- Over 5 years of experience working in property tax and with property tax assessors.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Active accreditations such as a Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA, or if not CPA eligible, a Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or certifications like CMI, MAI, ASA, CRE, CCIM, or Licensed Texas Senior Property Tax Consultant.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on work, clients, and industries/sectors served.
Preferred qualifications include:
- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous consulting experience from a large property tax practice.
- Thorough understanding of PTMS and OneSource Property Tax.
- Experience with property tax compliance, tax planning, tax analysis, and related tax research.
- Experience managing a team and acting as the first point of contact with clients.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role takes into account various factors considered in making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is $93,660 to $213,200. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where an award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
