Job Title: Tax Director - Private Companies
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Director within the department, the primary responsibilities revolve around providing business advisory services to private companies, focusing on tax compliance and planning to enhance operational efficiency. You will be involved in the entire business lifecycle of a private company, from inception to growth, maturity, and transition. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the team to innovate and improve ways of working.
- Arranging and sponsoring assignments and experiences to help team members realize their potential and support their long-term aspirations.
- Identifying market gaps and creating value propositions.
- Scaling efficiencies and exploring new ways of working across multiple projects.
- Creating an environment where people and technology collaborate effectively.
- Promoting and valuing diversity in team settings.
- Developing connections that benefit both people and stakeholders.
- Influencing and facilitating long-term relationships that add value to the company.
- Upholding the company's code of ethics and business conduct.
- Providing innovative tax advisory services, utilizing technical knowledge and industry insights to meet clients' needs.
- Addressing complex transactions requiring advanced sophistication.
- Applying deep understanding of tax compliance and consulting for various entities, including corporations and partnerships.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
- Required Fields of Study: Accounting
- Minimum Years of Experience: 8 years
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge in assisting companies with tax impact assessments in multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with a global network of professional services firms, law firms, or corporate tax departments of multinational companies.
- Technical prowess with ASC740.
- Skills in identifying and addressing client needs, developing and sustaining client relationships.
- Networking, negotiation, and persuasion skills for identifying and selling new service opportunities.
- Ability to prepare and present complex written and verbal materials.
- Experience in defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection.
- Leadership skills to generate vision, establish direction, and motivate team members.
- Ability to create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, coach staff, and encourage improvement and innovation.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $140,900 - $434,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range. Actual compensation within the range depends on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
