Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate to join its Atlanta office. This role is suited for an attorney with 3–5 years of experience in commercial and/or employment litigation. The position offers the opportunity to work on a mix of litigation, counseling, and transactional matters, advising corporate clients and executives on employment law issues, restrictive covenants, executive compensation, and more. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and looking to grow within a leading legal team nationally ranked by Chambers USA.

Location

Duties

  • Handle employment-related litigation including discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and contract disputes

  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs

  • Prepare for and assist in depositions and written discovery processes

  • Advise clients on employment law compliance and risk mitigation strategies

  • Assist with corporate transactions by identifying and advising on employment law implications

  • Review, draft, and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and separation agreements

  • Collaborate with cross-office teams and partners on complex matters involving public and private companies

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial and/or employment litigation

  • Proficiency in legal research, discovery management, and motion practice

  • Ability to work independently and manage litigation files from inception to resolution

  • Admission to practice in Georgia or eligibility to waive into the Georgia Bar

  • Experience in Am Law 100 firms is strongly preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized and accredited . law school

  • Strong academic record required

Certifications

  • Active admission to the Georgia State Bar (or eligibility to waive in)

Skills

  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Experience drafting employment-related agreements is a plus

  • Ability to anticipate client needs and maintain a strategic focus

  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment

  • Law Review or similar editorial experience is considered a strong asset
