Are you a law student looking for an exciting and hands-on experience in the legal field? Look no further than the Attorney General’s Office Internship Program! Our program offers students the opportunity to work on real-world cases and gain valuable skills and experience in various areas of law. We are currently accepting applications for our fall internships in our Civil Division's Litigation Section at our Springfield office.
Why Intern at the Attorney General’s Office?

- Have the opportunity to visit federal and state courts, prison and crime laboratories, and various state offices, such as the State Capitol.
- Increase your chances of future employment with the Office by being considered for a full-time position upon graduation and admission to the Missouri Bar.
What Will You Do as an Intern?
- Write trial and appellate briefs.
- Conduct witness and victim interviews.
- Research questions of law on active cases.
- Review active case files and investigations.
- Appear and argue in court proceedings and take depositions (if certified under Missouri Supreme Court Rule 13).
- Network with attorneys, state offices, and judges, as well as interact with clients.

- Strong academic record.
- Excellent writing and research skills.
- Interest in public service and the legal field.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Professionalism and strong work ethic.
How to Apply:
Our internship program primarily focuses on law students, but we may also consider undergraduate students for certain sections. Internships are available during the summer, fall, and spring semesters and can be paid and/or used for school credit. We conduct on-campus interviews at all four Missouri law schools and other law schools, so be sure to check with your law school's career development office for upcoming application deadlines and interview dates. Out-of-state students can also apply through our website.
