Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a talented commercial real estate lawyer to join their team as a Legal Counsel – Real Estate/Colo. In this role, you will support Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within . AWS is a leader in the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services to businesses.

As a member of the AWS legal team, you will be responsible for supporting the company's worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, and serviced licenses. Your duties will include transactional drafting and negotiating, providing legal counsel and interpretation to business team members, managing outside counsel, and advising internal clients. You will also be involved in developing and implementing process improvements, resolving legal issues, and handling pre-litigation disputes and inquiries.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of legal experience, a Juris Doctor degree, and be a member of one state bar or equivalent. Additionally, experience in drafting and negotiating various real estate transactional documents is required for this role.

Preferred qualifications for this position include a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work experience, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and meet aggressive deadlines.

The compensation for this position varies based on geographic location and factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The base pay ranges from $138,500/year in the lowest geographic market to $229,000/year in the highest geographic market. Other forms of compensation, such as equity and sign-on payments, may also be offered as part of the total compensation package.
