Job Title: Tax Manager - Financial Services Organization - State & Local Tax, Income Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager at the company, you will be a part of their State and Local Tax (SALT) team, which is experiencing significant growth. Your primary responsibilities will include managing multiple tax engagements and contributing to the delivery of quality tax planning and compliance services specifically tailored for clients in the financial services industry. You will be expected to implement your extensive knowledge of state and local tax concepts and law, ensuring up-to-the-minute tax advice for clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of company methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery.
- Challenging traditional procedures and finding new approaches to provide tax services.
- Building client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of the real estate industry.
- Developing and guiding junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and on-the-job training, ensuring team responsibilities align with skills and developmental goals.
- Staying abreast of state and local tax developments and working to develop new and innovative service offerings that deliver value to clients.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the role, candidates must have:
- A bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or economics and 5 years of related work experience.
- A CPA certification or good standing as a member of a state bar.
- Strong tax technical skills including tax research and writing skills, flow-through entity taxation, income and franchise taxes, transfer taxes, and compliance skills as it relates to multi-state jurisdictions.
- Project management experience in delivering high-quality work products in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed, and work in a balanced hybrid environment.
Ideally, candidates will also have experience in a professional services environment.
Salary Information:
The company offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, rewarding employees based on their performance and recognizing the value they bring to the business. The base salary range for this position across all geographic locations in the US is $104,100 to $190,700. For the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the base salary range is $124,900 to $216,700. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined by various factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Additionally, the Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. The company also offers a flexible vacation policy, allowing employees to decide how much time they need based on personal circumstances, along with designated paid holidays, winter/summer breaks, personal/family care, and other leaves of absence to support well-being.
