Summary:
Snowflake is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel 1 to join their world-class Commercial Legal team. This in-person role is based in Menlo Park, California, and offers a competitive salary range of $190,000 - $265,600, as well as participation in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan. The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of relevant in-house commercial legal experience, with a law degree from an accredited . law school and a license to practice law in the . They will also have exceptional analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as experience with SaaS-centric issues. This role will involve working closely with Sales teams on SaaS transactions, providing legal advice and guidance to senior business leaders, and managing risk and compliance in agreements. The ideal candidate will be flexible, hard-working, and have the desire to be impactful in Snowflake's continued growth and success as a key driver. Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Sales teams on SaaS transactions to drive company revenue
- Structure, negotiate, and close complex sales transactional agreements
- Provide legal advice and guidance to senior business leaders
- Manage risk and ensure compliance in agreements
- Work well in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Respond promptly to the demands of an active technology sales team and their management
- Develop and deliver training on legal issues and contract processes
- Support continuous improvements of forms, policies, and processes to streamline, simplify, and automate contracting processes
- Keep up-to-date on the rapidly evolving legal landscape affecting Snowflake's expanding portfolio of service features
- Forge strong relationships with Snowflake customers and internal clients
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups within Snowflake, including sales, professional services, and alliances
- Think and execute strategically and tactically
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of relevant in-house commercial legal experience
- Law degree from an accredited . law school and license to practice law in the .
- Outstanding analytical, drafting, negotiation, collaboration, written, and communication skills
- Strong background with SaaS-centric issues, professional services, and go-to-market programs
- Exceptional organizational, project management, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- Flexibility and eagerness to work hard in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to think and execute both strategically and tactically
- Highly effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide variety of people at all levels
- Service-oriented, responsive, professional, and strong integrity
- Experience working with highly regulated cloud customers and/or knowledge of emerging developments in the legal landscape for artificial intelligence is a plus
