Job Responsibilities

Education and Experience Information
The ideal candidate for the Head of Construction Defect Claims position should possess:
- Significant experience in claims leadership roles within the insurance industry, particularly in Construction Defect claim management.
- Multi-jurisdictional expertise.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. An advanced degree, such as a Juris Doctor (.), is preferred.
- The ability to manage a diverse group of claims teams located in multiple locations.
- Experience in directly managing and guiding a team of Managers responsible for overseeing all aspects of claims handling.
- Regular participation in claims roundtable discussions focusing on issues surrounding coverage, liability, and damage assessment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership.
- Leadership skills, including the ability to plan, organize, delegate, and develop direct reports.
- The ability to persuade and influence people through superior written and oral communications, effectively explaining concepts, challenging ideas, and arguing in favor of one’s viewpoint.
- Emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
- A willingness to embrace change, invite feedback related to performance, and deal constructively with criticism.
