Job Title: Assistant Law Clerk
Organization: Unified Court System
Location: Supreme Court, New York County - Civil Term
Salary: $84,659 + $4,920 location pay
Experience: Graduation from an accredited law school within the last 3 years and admission to the New York State Bar within 18 months, or within 3 years of first admission to any bar in the United States.

Job Description:
- Research and analyze legal issues in complex civil term motions
- Draft opinions, orders, and verify citations
- Assist in the management of the Judge's docket and calendar
- Confer with lawyers in discovery conferences
- Provide assistance to the Judge in managing and resolving cases
- Serve at the pleasure of the appointing Justice
- Appointment is for one year, renewable four times
- Appointing Justice agrees to forego the appointment of a Secretary and waive the right to such an appointment for the period of service for the Assistant Law Clerk

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited law school within the last 3 years and admission to the New York State Bar within 18 months, or within 3 years of first admission to any bar in the United States
- Commercial litigation experience preferred
- Excellent writing skills and ability to draft opinions in complex commercial matters are essential
