Job Title: Mid-Level Associate Attorney - Litigation

Job Overview:

A prominent law firm based in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a mid-level litigation associate with deep expertise in pharmaceutical and medical device matters, particularly around Daubert and Rule 702 motion practice. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with senior attorneys and subject matter experts while contributing to national-scale litigation matters. Duties:

  • Communicate directly with corporate clients and internal legal teams

  • Provide oversight and mentorship to junior attorneys and legal support staff

  • Coordinate with expert witnesses and consultants

  • Support fact discovery processes, including depositions and interrogatory responses

  • Draft and review complex legal documents, including motions, memoranda, and briefs

  • Contribute to case strategy development and litigation planning

  • Handle matters involving product liability and regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries

  • Research and apply federal evidentiary rules, including Rule 702, in the context of Daubert motions

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably with exposure to complex civil litigation at a nationally recognized law firm

  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal writing, especially motions to exclude expert testimony under Rule 702

  • Prior work on pharmaceutical or medical device product liability cases is strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with the procedural requirements of multi-district litigation (MDL) and federal court practice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited and nationally recognized law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Arizona State Bar

  • Candidates licensed in other jurisdictions with the ability to waive into Arizona will also be considered

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and persuasive writing capabilities

  • Ability to manage complex litigation deadlines and competing priorities

  • Skilled in both independent and collaborative work environments

  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving ability

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead

  • Project management and organizational expertise
