Job Title: Spring Internship

Job Responsibilities:
The internship program offers students a unique educational opportunity to participate in the legislative branch of government, providing a comprehensive understanding of the core functions of a congressional office. Interns will be responsible for:
- Responding to constituent inquiries
- Researching legislation
- Developing public policy
- Observing the legislative process firsthand by attending committee meetings, hearings, and various lecture series

Education and Experience Information:
Applicants must be enrolled in college with a minimum Grade Point Average. Excellent writing and computer skills are required. While preference is given to residents of California’s 40th Congressional District, all applications will be considered. Prior internship experience in Washington . or a district office is not mandatory but can be beneficial.

Salary Information:
Interns are eligible to receive a monthly stipend. However, they are responsible for their own expenses, including transportation and lodging costs.

Additional Information:
Internships are available in both the Washington . office and the District Office in California’s 40th Congressional District. Typically, these internships are offered for the spring term, summer term, or fall term. Applications for the Summer 2025 internships in the District offices are due by April 11, 2025. Interns must complete and submit an application form, including a cover letter and resume. Academic credit may be available for internships, and applicants should check with their respective educational institutions.

Internship Availability:
Candidates must specify their availability, including the desired start and end dates, and whether they are seeking a full-time or part-time internship. Availability for specific days of the week (Monday through Friday) must also be indicated.
