A respected multi-state law firm is seeking a full-time Litigation Attorney to manage contested litigation matters, with an emphasis on residential real estate, mortgage servicing, foreclosure, and title-related disputes. Duties

  • Handle all aspects of civil litigation involving mortgage servicing, foreclosure, and real property issues

  • Manage pre-litigation matters and assist with clearing title issues

  • Draft legal pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

  • Conduct and defend depositions

  • Appear at hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences

  • Provide strategic legal analysis and case recommendations to clients

  • Maintain and prioritize a large and active caseload

  • Meet billable hour expectations (1920 hours annually)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–8 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in real estate or mortgage servicing

  • Ability to manage a heavy caseload efficiently and independently

  • Familiarity with rules of evidence and courtroom procedure

  • Willingness to travel throughout California as needed

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active member of the California State Bar

  • Must meet ongoing CLE requirements

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

  • Knowledge of consumer protection statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (preferred)

  • Ability to identify and solve legal and procedural issues quickly
