Job Overview:
A law firm based in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a motivated Probate Attorney to support a busy trusts and estates practice. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners on both contested and uncontested probate matters. This position is ideal for a licensed attorney with a strong foundation in probate and trust administration who is ready to operate semi-independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team.
Duties:
Manage a caseload involving probate and trust administration, including contested matters
Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex estate disputes
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents
Represent clients in probate court under supervision
Communicate with clients, fiduciaries, and other counsel regarding case progress and strategy
Ensure all legal procedures comply with the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure
Maintain accurate and organized case records
Requirements:
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in probate and trust administration
Demonstrated ability to manage case responsibilities with moderate oversight
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team setting
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active Arizona Bar membership (required)
Skills:
Exceptional legal writing and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in legal research using modern research tools
Knowledge of Arizona probate statutes and relevant court procedures
Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills
Time management and organizational expertise
