Job Title: Law Fellow
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop legal expertise in housing, labor and employment, environmental justice, education, and health.
- Implement CRLA’s statewide approach to ensure local districts meet obligations for equal access to low-income, English Learner, and foster students.
- Engage in community education and outreach strategies.
- Develop local leadership and monitor school districts and county offices of education.
- File administrative complaints and possibly engage in regulatory proceedings.
- Participate in ongoing impact litigation challenging state and local failures to comply with statutory and state constitutional mandates for equal educational opportunity.
Education and Experience Information:
- Rising or current third-year law students and recent law graduates.
- Strong commitment to working with rural Californians and addressing primary issues affecting their lives.
- Applicants should demonstrate interest in working on projects related to equitable school funding and community advocacy.
