Designated Institutional Official - CTL
Job Responsibilities:
- The Designated Institutional Official (DIO) is responsible for overseeing residency and fellowship programs within the Denver market under the Continental Division of the company.
- The DIO will oversee the Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs which include 11 ACGME-accredited programs and more than 200 residents and fellows across various specialties and subspecialties.
- The DIO will also provide oversight and guidance for non-company resident rotations in the facilities.
- The role involves ensuring compliance with the ACGME Institutional, Common, and specialty/subspecialty-specific Program Requirements.
- The DIO will work closely with program faculty to identify areas needing attention and determine the resources or efforts required to maintain full compliance with all requirements.
- The DIO will collaborate with the Division VP of GME and other Division and hospital leaders to enhance the educational quality of each program.
- Lead the local GME team in improving the working and learning environment, aiming to create a positive culture and outstanding experience for all residents and fellows.
- Monitor changes in ACGME accreditation standards and requirements and disseminate information to relevant stakeholders within the institution.
- The role may involve clinical work depending on the specialty and the availability of a desired practice setting.
- The DIO is based at the Continental Division office in Denver and is expected to travel to the six teaching hospitals in the Denver area as needed.
- The full-time equivalent (FTE) value for the DIO administrative time is 100% or 40 hours/week.
- There is no requirement to work clinically, but there may be an opportunity if desired, depending on the specialty and availability of a practice setting.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates should have a Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), other Doctorate-level qualifications (., PhD, EdD, JD), or other qualifications deemed appropriate by the Division Vice President of GME and facility leadership.
- Prior experience as a DIO, program director, or other significant GME administrative role is highly preferred.
- Experience in undergraduate medical education administration or other healthcare industry administration may be appropriate in certain situations.
