The Fairbanks District Attorney's Office is looking for a driven and energetic attorney to join our team as an Assistant District Attorney in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time position that requires strong oral advocacy skills and the ability to think critically and communicate effectively. While prior prosecutorial experience is a plus, it is not required for this role.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to prosecute violations of criminal law in interior and northern Alaska, including frequent trials, pre-trial motion practice, and court hearings. Our office covers multiple courts in addition to the Fairbanks location, providing occasional opportunities for travel.
Fairbanks is a thriving community with a population of approximately 100,000 people. It is home to the University of Alaska Fairbanks and offers a diverse population with the presence of two military bases. The city boasts a variety of stores, a movie theater, several gyms, and an international airport with direct connections to many locations. The compensation for this position is based on a combination of judicial clerking and licensed legal experience. The table provided in the job description gives an estimate of the base pay for each attorney level, with potential for promotion based on service and job performance. There are also geographical pay differences for certain locations in Alaska.
