Job Title: Tax Manager – Manufacturing
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager – Manufacturing, you will be responsible for providing tax consulting and compliance services, overseeing all aspects of tax planning, preparation, and review processes for tax engagements. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships across various tax consulting and compliance engagements.
- Managing engagement workflow, team resources, and billing processes.
- Collaborating as part of a coordinated client service team, providing industry insights to clients across various sectors.
- Reviewing the profitability of engagements and preparing and analyzing monthly billing for assigned engagements.
- Reviewing tax returns prepared by staff, making recommendations for accuracy and tax-saving opportunities.
- Researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and implications.
- Demonstrating strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting and tax software.
- Providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team.
- Representing the company and building relationships by attending fundraisers, meetings with prospects/bankers, charitable events, and professional organizations.
- Participating in internal initiatives that promote firm growth, culture, technical tax content development, and technological advancements.
- Staying informed of current and proposed tax legislation, communicating potential impacts to clients, and assisting with planning.
Education and Experience Information:
- A CPA, ., , or Masters in Taxation is required.
- A minimum of five years of public accounting experience in tax is essential.
- Significant prior experience managing compliance and consulting engagements for clients in the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to develop business and foster client relationships.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent writing, communication, and tax research skills.
