Job Title: Claims Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability and liability.
- Establish action plans based on case facts, best practices, protocols, regulatory issues, and available resources.
- Plan and conduct investigations of claims to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability, and damages.
- Assess policy coverage for submitted claims and notify the insured of any issues.
- Determine and establish reserve requirements, adjusting reserves as necessary during the processing of the claim.
- Refer claims to the subrogation group or Special Investigations Unit as appropriate.
- Assess actual damages associated with claims and conduct negotiations, within assigned authority limits, to settle claims.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
- is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in claims adjustment, general insurance, or formal claims training.
- At least one year of recent litigation management experience.
- Experience with attorney-represented claimants for Bodily Injury claims in General Liability, Auto Liability, and large Commercial Casualty losses is preferred.
- Required to obtain and maintain all applicable licenses.
- Continuing education courses leading to industry certifications preferred, such as AEI, IIA, or CPCU.
- Knowledge of claims investigation techniques, medical terminology, and legal aspects of claims is important.

Salary Information:
- Minimum Salary: USD $60, per year.
- Maximum Salary: USD $139, per year.
- Typical Starting Salary: $68,500 - $97,000.
- Flexible Time Off Annual Accrual: 15 days.

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors, including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at the company have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

This position is a hybrid role, and those within 50 miles of the company offices in Boston, MA; Suwanee, GA; Plano, TX; Hoffman Estates, IL must report to the office twice a month. This policy is subject to change.
