Blockchain and Digital Asset Tax Manager
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager for Blockchain and Digital Assets, the candidate will be responsible for managing teams that provide tax advisory and compliance services to a diverse range of clients. These clients include traditional enterprises entering the crypto space, companies developing decentralized networks, infrastructure companies involved in mining and staking, crypto exchanges, and asset managers expanding into crypto investments. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading clients in legal entity structuring, tax analysis of token flows, transaction analysis, revenue recognition, sourcing, and implementing clients’ tax objectives.
- Collaborating directly with company leaders and specialists in crypto taxation.
- Conducting detailed reviews of tax research, agreements, work papers, and tax filings.
- Coordinating and communicating with client contacts to understand their business, gather information, and provide tax-efficient solutions.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising tax staff.
- Preparing and leading client meetings on advisory and compliance projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of various transactions.
- Participating in marketplace eminence building and pursuits.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Tax technical analysis of transactions and business models
- Corporate or partnership tax
- Mergers and acquisitions tax
- International tax
- Financial Instruments
- Tax controversy
- Tax structuring
The candidate should have experience managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing. Additionally, the candidate must have one of the following accreditations:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
The role requires the ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, with a co-location in person 2 – 3 days per week, and the ability to travel 20% on average based on work and client needs.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role is between $98,350 and $223,990. This range considers various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, the candidate may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, which depends on individual and organizational performance.
