A law firm seeks an experienced and licensed immigration attorney to join its expanding practice in Falls Church, Virginia. This position is ideal for an attorney passionate about immigration law and seeking to contribute to a dynamic team in a growing practice. The successful candidate will handle a range of immigration-related matters, including visa petitions, green card applications, and naturalization cases while providing exceptional client service in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in a variety of immigration matters, including family-based petitions, employment visas, asylum applications, and green card processes.
  • Advise clients on the best immigration strategies based on their unique circumstances.
  • Draft, file, and review legal documents such as applications, petitions, and appeals.
  • Handle deportation defense cases, providing representation in removal proceedings.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures to provide informed legal guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and other legal professionals to ensure efficient case management.
  • Conduct consultations with clients to assess eligibility for various immigration benefits.
  • Attend interviews with clients at immigration offices, as required, and represent clients in hearings when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia (or eligible to practice in Virginia).
  • Strong understanding of . immigration law and procedures.
  • Previous experience in immigration law is highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and client service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Virginia Bar (required).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law, including family-based and employment-based petitions.
  • Experience with asylum, deportation defense, and other removal proceedings.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Strong client communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to handle complex cases and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal software and case management tools.
