Job Title: Director, Associate General Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
The Director, Associate General Counsel role is multifaceted and involves supporting various aspects of the company's business, including product development, commercial and . government contracting, satellite operations, and analytical platform capabilities. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing guidance and advice as lead counsel to development and product teams, particularly concerning export compliance.
- Leading technical and legal reviews of deliverables, reports, and presentations, offering expert guidance on export controls.
- Assisting with regulatory requirements and filings with . regulatory agencies like the FCC and NOAA.
- Assessing and classifying hardware under EAR or ITAR, and reviewing platform and analytic capabilities for export issues.
- Developing business procedures, policies, and processes.
- Drafting and filing export license applications and agreements.
- Organizing and compiling materials for licenses, including renewals or registration updates.
- Providing annual export training to the operations organization.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate degree with 6-10 years of experience. Experience with ITAR and EAR is required, with a preference for experience working with NOAA, FCC, and NASA for satellite licensing and regulation. At least two years of experience in the space or defense sectors is also preferred. The candidate should have strong team cooperation and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage a workload of concurrent independent activities.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Experience in . Government contracting support for a . or DOD Government contractor.
- Experience with foreign business registration and maintenance.
- SEC filing support experience.
Salary Information:
The anticipated salary range for candidates in Seattle, WA is $160,000-$175,000 per year. The final compensation package will depend on the candidate's specific background and education. As a multi-state employer, this salary range may not reflect possible salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Seattle, WA.
Additional Information:
