Job Title: Associate General Counsel, Network Legal – Remote
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate General Counsel, Network Legal, is a crucial role in the legal department of the company, specifically within the Southeast Region Network Legal Team. This attorney will be responsible for supporting the Network team in the development and management of the company's network of hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers, covering commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing legal support for certain Southeast Region network markets on the Network Legal Team.
- Collaborating with a team of attorneys and legal professionals across the enterprise.
- Serving as counsel to leadership in the development, structuring, and execution of all aspects of the company’s relationships with healthcare providers.
- Drafting and negotiating contracts with large and complex health care provider partners.
- Managing the resolution of disputes, supporting arbitration proceedings, and drafting settlement agreements.
- Acquiring deep knowledge of the industry and the specific business practices of the company’s provider network operations.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Associate General Counsel, Network Legal position must meet the following educational and experience requirements:
- Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree.
- Current license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 5 years of legal experience.
- Experience with regulatory agencies and administrative experience with state insurance regulations.
- Extensive healthcare background with managed care contracting experience.
- Knowledge of ., state contract, corporate health care, and regulatory law.
- Understanding of health care benefit coverage and medical policy development.
- Demonstrated understanding of business problems related to assigned legal projects.
- Proven ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal courses of action to meet business unit needs.
- Proven ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external contacts.
- Demonstrated presentation skills.
- Proven success in collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environment.
- Proven written and verbal communications skills.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Associate General Counsel, Network Legal position is $124,500 to $239,400 annually, based on full-time employment. Pay is determined by several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, among others. In addition to salary, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility requirements. The company complies with all applicable minimum wage laws.
