A well-established law firm is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its growing family law department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own caseload with strong support from staff and management. This role is ideal for an attorney with a desire to specialize in family law matters, including divorce, custody disputes, paternity, child support enforcement, adoptions, and other civil litigation areas.

Duties

  • Independently manage a caseload with the support of staff and management.
  • Handle a variety of family law matters including divorce, paternity, custody disputes, child support enforcement, adoptions, and other civil litigation issues.
  • Draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide legal guidance and updates on case progress.
  • Ensure deadlines are met for case filings and related activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and manage expectations throughout the process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of legal experience (family law experience preferred).
  • Active membership in good standing with the Utah State Bar.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize caseload independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong desire to practice in family law and civil litigation matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the Utah State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly to clients.
  • Skilled in legal research, writing, and document preparation.
