Counsel, Visa Consulting and Analytics: A Strategic Legal Role with Visa Job Title: Counsel, Visa Consulting and Analytics Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience Salary: $182,300 - $237,000 per year, plus potential bonuses and equity Overview: Visa, a global leader in digital payments, is seeking a proactive and experienced product and commercial lawyer to join its growing legal team. This role will support Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA), a team that provides consulting and data analytics services to Visa's clients worldwide. As a member of the Value-Added Services legal team, the Counsel will play a critical role in providing legal guidance to support VCA's rapid growth and success. This is a hybrid position, allowing for a mix of remote and office work. Key Responsibilities: • Work closely with business teams to understand and achieve key objectives and develop compelling product and service offerings • Draft, negotiate, and drive complex commercial agreements that align with business objectives • Provide sophisticated and creative counseling to business teams on product development, deployment, and associated contracting considerations • Lead review of product-related marketing materials and corporate communications • Manage regulatory support and evaluate potential impacts on Visa and its partners • Collaborate with Visa's regional legal and business teams globally to resolve local issues and achieve consistency in approach and issues worldwide • Provide counsel on transactional legal matters and proposed corporate actions and projects • Review externally facing documentation for compliance with relevant laws and policies Qualifications: • 7+ years of relevant experience in payments, financial services, technology, or fintech industries • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and member in good standing of a State Bar or ability to become barred or registered in-house counsel in the state where this role is located • Strong academic credentials and experience negotiating a variety of commercial agreements • Ability to provide balanced advice on risks and benefits and drive execution in a team environment • Practical problem-solving skills and strong business acumen • Ability to manage and drive legal and regulatory aspects of complex business initiatives • Prior experience with privacy and competition laws • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage workload with minimal supervision Additional Information: • Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department • Travel Requirements: 5-10% • Mental/Physical Requirements: Office setting, sitting and standing at a desk, operating standard office equipment Visa is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.
