Senior Legal Counsel - Provide legal and business support to Digital Transformation Solutions strategic business unit (DTS SBU) for Harman Inc.

About the Role
- Reports directly to a member of Legal and Compliance Leadership Team
- Works closely with Legal and Compliance leadership to support operational, functional, and/or business clients
- Must have a broad understanding of Harman's business objectives and the impact of external factors on the DTS SBU and Harman's corporate function
- Responsible for handling complex negotiations and assignments with little supervision
- Provides strategic, practical advice and counsel on key business issues to operational managers
- Manages litigation and corresponding outside counsel law firms and legal service providers
- Must have intermediate level project management skills and advanced communication and collaboration skills

Your Team
- Manages 1 or more direct reports, including junior attorney(s) and/or contract managers

Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of technology services and other technology-related agreements
- Identify legal and regulatory issues in product initiatives and customer agreements and work cross-functionally to find solutions
- Engage in risk assessment and mitigation and provide creative legal advice in a fast-paced, high growth environment
- Work closely with Legal and Compliance leadership to support business teams and establish relationships across the legal team and with other departments
- Apply strong analytical legal skills and demonstrate risk and compliance awareness when supporting projects or making strategic decisions
- Promptly address unforeseen legal risks and communicate with Legal and Compliance leadership and business leaders
- Work with business teams to understand, assess, and address business risks and implications
- Develop and maintain templates, negotiation resources, and playbooks in collaboration with other Legal and Compliance staff and organizational partners
- Support the development and implementation of innovative ways to scale commercial legal processes
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Juris Doctor and Bar admission (or equivalent in jurisdiction)
- Experienced professional providing strategic legal counsel to at least one defined function area or business unit
- Strong analytical skills, task-focused, able to work under pressure, and manage multiple stakeholders
- Exercises good judgement and takes significant roles in broader strategic projects for the department
- 8+ years of relevant experience (in-house or law firm) and a law degree
- 6+ years of specialized experience in technology services agreements and other technology transactions

Critical Skills
- Effectively prioritize, delegate, supervise, and monitor work carried out by external legal resources or non-legal project teams
- Identify potential legal and compliance issues and consult with appropriate stakeholders to find a solution
- Take initiative to develop or improve internal company guidance documents
- Translate legal issues for primary business client and possess diplomacy skills
- Communicate effectively at all legal levels and enable the sharing of information and resources across the legal team
- Consider the commercial impact when applying legal and regulatory principles
- Network in the legal industry and support junior colleagues
- Develop sustainable and effective networks inside the legal team and across the primary client SBU or function

Eligibility
- Willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international
- Willing to work remotely and occasionally in an office located in one of the following: Novi, Michigan; Stamford, Connecticut; Richardson, Texas; or Sunnyvale, California
