Duties

  • Represent clients in all phases of workers' compensation litigation, including initial investigations, depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Provide strategic defense counsel to clients, ensuring effective, outcome-driven legal solutions.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and various legal documents.
  • Analyze complex medical and legal documents to inform case strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved.
  • Negotiate settlements, advocating vigorously for client interests.
  • Stay informed on legislative updates in workers' compensation law, applying new insights to case strategy.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • 1-15 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Thorough knowledge of California workers' compensation laws and regulatory landscape.
  • Proven analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills for managing a dynamic caseload.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar Membership.
