Job Title: General Liability Attorney Salary: Competitive, based on experience Experience: 3+ years defending general liability and civil claims H1: Join a Growing Midwestern Law Firm as a General Liability Attorney H2: Defend Employers in Workers' Compensation and Defendants in General Liability Matters Hennessy & Roach, ., a Chicago-based law firm, is seeking a full-time General Liability Attorney with at least three years of experience to join their team. The firm, which also has offices in seven other states, specializes in defending employers in Workers' Compensation and defendants in General Liability matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and professional references, as well as a proven track record of five or more years of experience in general liability and civil claims defense in Illinois. While portable business is a plus, it is not required for this position. The General Liability Attorney will be responsible for gathering and analyzing medical evidence and records, conducting discovery, performing legal research, and drafting legal documents. They will also be expected to represent clients and insurers at hearings, trials, depositions, and other proceedings, as well as negotiate settlements on their behalf. Other essential job functions include managing costs to reduce liability, compiling and submitting reports, and coordinating and attending claims reviews. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and research skills, and must be able to work independently and as part of a team. To be considered for this position, applicants must have a . and be admitted to the Illinois bar. They should also have a working knowledge of legal principles and practices, as well as thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Time Matters legal software is required.
