We are looking to hire a PIP Attorney to join GEICO PIP Staff Counsel in Orlando, FL. This position requires working in office 1-2 days per week and attending in-person appearances as required by court/office. The ideal candidate should have 0-5+ years of experience in related field, a Juris Doctor degree, and be licensed in good standing to practice law in Florida. They must be able to travel as required, including but not limited, to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences. Primary Responsibilities: • Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda • Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department • Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing, all matters assigned, as applicable Preferred Qualifications: • Civil litigation experience • Insurance defense-related litigation experience • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner in person, via telephone and written correspondence/email Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time position with a salary that is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
