Job Overview:

The Benefits And Executive Compensation Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and support on a wide range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including advising on qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, nonqualified plans, and compensation issues in corporate transactions.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on employee benefits and executive compensation matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including plan documents, agreements, and disclosures.
  • Assist with compliance efforts related to employee benefits laws and regulations.
  • Conduct research and analysis on legal issues related to employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm on client matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois.
  • 4-6 years of experience practicing law, focusing on employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Experience advising clients on qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, and nonqualified plans.
  • Prior experience advising on compensation and benefits issues in corporate transactions, including ESOP transactions.
  • Excellent writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Certification in Employee Benefits Law (., Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) is preferred.
