Marquee Brands, a portfolio company managing established global brands, is seeking a motivated and independent Assistant General Counsel to join their legal team in New York. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and be able to handle a variety of legal matters and compliance activities.

Responsibilities:

- Structure, negotiate, draft, and close agreements for internal client groups.
- Identify and address legal issues and risks in various areas, such as licensing, corporate law, intellectual property, employment law, and privacy.
- Advise on legal matters and assist with business decisions.
- Develop and maintain a business-centric approach to commercial agreements.
- Support corporate governance and compliance.
- Assist with managing litigation and disputes.
- Act as an internal expert on privacy laws.
- Develop policies, training, and templates to address key risks.
- Consult and oversee work by outside counsel.
- Research and advise on legal issues relevant to the company.
- Assist with other matters and projects as needed.

- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Experience in licensing/consumer products/retail/fashion is a plus.
