Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and recommendations for initiatives and projects
- Focus on large-scale and/or high financial-level projects with broad department and/or organizational impact and moderate level of risk
- Work as a strategic partner and decision-maker with senior leaders
- Manage work independently
- Apply knowledge of legal specialties and business goals and objectives
- Determine methods and procedures for legal projects
- Contribute to overall results of an SBU or CEE unit and/or department
- Use professional legal concepts and principles
- Provide instructions to junior members of the department and briefings to senior level business and legal management
- Work on complex problems with in-depth evaluation of various factors
- Serve as a resource for other attorneys and paralegals

- Report identified business exposure and associated risks to management
- Manage relationships with outside counsel
- Work in the commercial, individual market
- Experience with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA)
- Familiarity with provider contracting and network adequacy
- Experience working with Operations, Executive Leadership, and Government Relations

Requirements:
- JD and current license to practice law
- Minimum of 9 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Experience managing outside counsel
- Experience working in the commercial, individual market
- Experience with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA)
- Experience working with Operations
- Experience managing relationships with state and federal regulatory agencies
- Familiarity with provider contracting and network adequacy
- Familiarity working with Executive Leadership and Government Relations
