Job Title: Entry-Level Assistant State's Attorney
Salary: $77,191+
Department: Office of the State's Attorney

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and handle cases for incarcerable traffic and criminal dockets
- Attend trainings and presentations to enhance legal knowledge and skills
- Conduct legal research and prepare written memoranda
- Represent the State at all stages of the court process
- Work with police and expert witnesses to gather evidence and prepare for trial
- Review cases for viability and make sentencing recommendations
- Conduct direct and cross examinations, opening and closing statements, and timely trial objections
- Comply with discovery requirements and review evidence obtained from BPD
- Engage in case reviews with trainers, peers, and supervisory staff

Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree and license to practice law in the State of Maryland
- Highly organized and able to work in a high pressure environment
- Commitment to public service and maintaining public safety
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
