Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years' experience in the defense of civil litigation and be licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas state and federal courts. Additional state admissions are a plus. Strong legal research and analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. The ability to manage multiple case files in a busy environment and knowledge of state and federal court procedures are also necessary.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for handling a substantial caseload of litigation. This includes drafting, preparing, and handling pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda, as well as conducting legal research and preparing for depositions and court appearances. You will also be expected to review client documents, draft case evaluations and status report correspondence, and assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances.
