Salary and Benefits Salary: $6, - $8, Monthly Health benefits: The City offers a choice of medical plans with a substantial employer contribution toward the cost of the premium. The City’s current contribution is $1,200 per month for medical, dental and vision coverage for employee and eligible dependents. Employees who waive medical coverage receive $300 per month in cash compensation. Vacation and Sick Leave: Employees earn 10 vacation days per year for the first 5 years of service. Additional days are earned after 5 years of service. Sick leave is earned at 8 hours per month. Holidays: The City observes 10 holidays per year. Retirement: The City participates in the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) program. The City pays the full contribution for Social Security (%) and participates in a deferred compensation program. This full-time position will be responsible for performing complex legal office operations for the criminal division of the City Attorney’s Office. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of legal assistant/paralegal experience and hold a paralegal certification. The successful candidate must also have a valid Washington State Driver’s License and be able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting process. About the Position: Reporting to the Senior Assistant City Attorney, the Paralegal 1 will provide technical clerical and administrative support to the prosecuting attorneys. This includes case management, responding to discovery requests, conducting legal research, and drafting complaints. The Paralegal 1 will also serve as a liaison between the prosecutors and the public, police, courts, defense counsels, and other City departments. They will assist in the prosecution of criminal court cases, retrieve and review police reports, and prepare case files for court proceedings. provide a variety of paralegal and complex clerical, technical, and support duties to the prosecuting attorneys , including: case management of all cases filed in seatac municipal court by the seatac and port of seattle police agency; respond to discovery requests from opposing counsels, conduct legal research, draft complaints, and contact potential witnesses; work with various law enforcement agencies in obtaining police reports, toxicology reports, evidence, and any relevant information for a successful criminal prosecution
