GEICO is looking for a Liability Defense Attorney II in Miami, FL/Broward, FL to defend lawsuits in South Florida courts. This is a hybrid position, with the option to work remotely and in-office. The ideal candidate will have 4-5+ years of litigation experience, including insurance/bodily injury defense.

Job Responsibilities:

- Research and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value for the Claims Department
- Handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations before trial
- Defend cases at trial or dispositive hearings

Basic Qualifications:

- 4-5+ years of litigation experience, including insurance/bodily injury defense
- Juris Doctor degree
- Admission to the Florida Bar and in good standing
- Must be able to travel as required
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to learn and apply technical and procedural information

Preferred Qualifications:

- Civil litigation experience
- Insurance defense-related litigation experience

Hybrid Eligible Location: This position requires 2 days working in office during orientation and attending in-person court hearings.
