A law firm seeks an experienced attorney with a strong background in food and drug regulatory law to provide legal guidance on product compliance, labeling, advertising, and manufacturing regulations within the food & beverage, dietary supplement, cannabis, hemp, and psychedelic industries. This role requires a deep understanding of federal and state regulations, including FDA and FTC compliance, as well as expertise in alcohol licensing and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have a track record of advising clients on regulatory compliance and be capable of managing client relationships and developing this practice area within the firm.
Advise clients on FDA and state-level regulations governing product compliance, including claims, labeling, advertising, manufacturing, and distribution.
Provide strategic legal counsel on compliance with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Public Health Service Act, FTC regulations, and other applicable federal and state laws.
Represent clients in interactions with federal and state regulators overseeing product development, manufacturing, and marketing.
Guide clients on pre-market strategies, product development, clinical investigations, and regulatory inspections.
Counsel clients on regulatory matters concerning food, drugs, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and alcohol-related products.
Serve as a liaison between clients and regulatory agencies, handling product inquiries, inspections, and enforcement actions.
Review and analyze product formulations, packaging, labeling, marketing materials, and digital content for compliance with applicable laws.
Supervise and provide oversight for associates working on regulatory compliance matters related to FDA, FTC, TTB, and alcohol licensing.
Strong background in FDA regulatory compliance, specifically in food, drug, beverage, and alcohol-related industries.
Experience advising clients on federal and state regulatory compliance, including product labeling, advertising, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
Knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks such as the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, FTC regulations, and alcohol licensing laws.
Ability to handle high-level client interactions and provide strategic legal guidance on emerging industry regulations.
Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
Familiarity with legal research and case management tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, NetDocuments, Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, DocuSign, and Clio (preferred).
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in at least one practicing state.
Expertise in FDA, FTC, and alcohol licensing regulations.
Strong legal research and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to manage multiple client matters effectively.
Attention to detail in compliance review processes.
Ability to lead and mentor associates in regulatory matters.
