Summary: Organization: Office of the Attorney General (OAG) Job Title: Assistant Attorney General I-III Experience: Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor (.) degree, licensed attorney in good standing with State Bar of Texas Salary: $6, - $7, per month Location: Corpus Christi, Texas Number of Openings: 1 Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Closing Date: Ongoing The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking Assistant Attorneys General (AAGs) to represent the State of Texas in family law proceedings. This includes establishing paternity, obtaining court orders for child support and healthcare coverage, and enforcing and modifying child support orders. AAGs also work to promote the involvement of both parents in their children's lives and collaborate with other state agencies and community organizations to support Texas families. AAGs have a diverse legal practice that includes gaining trial court experience, negotiating court orders, and becoming experts in family law. They are part of a supportive statewide team dedicated to serving Texas children and families. The OAG is a large state agency with over 4,000 employees and offers excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth. Key Responsibilities: - Represent the State of Texas in legal and administrative proceedings related to child support - Provide legal advice, consultation, and training to the Child Support Program - Maintain knowledge of relevant laws and regulations - Attend work regularly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor (.) degree from accredited institutions - Licensed attorney in good standing with State Bar of Texas - Knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code - Strong legal writing, mediation, and negotiation skills - Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively and provide excellent customer service - Must be able to work in person at assigned OAG location and travel up to 25% as needed - Must be able to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
