Estate Planning Attorney The candidate will work on advanced estate and income tax planning matters. Evaluate and update template documents, letters, and procedures. Be able to draft high-quality correspondence; estate planning documents; Probate, Administration, and Conservatorship petitions; strategy recommendations; settlement agreements; etc. Research estate planning and probate issues. Represent clients at Probate, Administration, Trust, and Conservatorship court hearings. Review client issues on Trust and Estate matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action. Meet with clients, perform intake, and follow up with clients.
Qualification and Experience The candidate should have J.D. degree or Master of Laws (LLM) degree. Must have 3+ years of experience working as an estate planning attorney. A strong understanding of the needs and priorities of estate planning attorneys, their clients, and the general legal market is a plus. Knowledge of tax implications of trusts and estates is an asset. Admitted in New York Bar, other states are a plus. Have the ability to prioritize and multitask is preferred. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills is an asset. Have deadline-meeting capabilities and be detail-oriented is a plus. Be highly adaptive to different tasks of different legal nature is an asset. Possess strong common sense. Be loyal to the law firm. Express long-term commitment to the law firm. Be motivated and creative. Be a team player. Have strong logistical skills in coordinating court dates and deadlines.
