Law Firm Seeking Experienced Counsel for Labor & Employment Role in California

Are you an experienced litigator looking for a new challenge? Do you want increased flexibility without sacrificing the excitement of a full-cycle litigation practice? Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, has an exciting opportunity for a Counsel in our California offices. This highly flexible role allows for remote work and a lower billable hours target than our full-time shareholder track attorneys.

Responsibilities:

- Defend employers in employment litigation, primarily single/multi-plaintiff lawsuits
- Develop defense strategy and draft pleadings
- Manage discovery-related activities and take/defend depositions
- May argue motions, participate in mediation, or other in-person aspects of a lawsuit
- Work with a dedicated client team(s) servicing one of the firm's largest clients
- Participate in annual all attorney retreat and have access to extensive learning and development resources

Requirements:

- Active license to practice law in California and in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant employment litigation experience
- Strong analytical and writing skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Dedication to client service
- Self-motivated and accountable for work product
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Salary Information: $175,000 - $180,000 (in accordance with California's amended labor code)
